Tasting - Cortenova Primativo

Name: Cortenova Primativo
Variety: Zinfandel
Region: Puglia
Country: Italy
Year: 2012
Price: $7

Winery Review: Dark, ruby-red color with violet highlights. Intense and fragrant bouquet with a rich array of red and black fruit aromas and flavors. Harmonious and velvety on the palate. Great balance and structure. 100% Zinfandel

My Review: It had a very aromatic smell. Big smell. Hints of cherries, black cherries, and jammy. The taste was much the same with more cherries but with unripe fruit. Slight tannic quality. It had a big flavor but I couldn't pinpoint what it was. It had a long finish. It was a good wine and would probably drink again.
