My Review:
This was gem for the price point. It had a distinctive dark, inky color. The nose was of black berries, black currants, and plum. The taste was of black cherries and blackberries with a slight vanilla at the end. This was a soft, silky wine with a smooth, short finish.

Tasting - Michael-David Winery Freakshow Cabernet Sauvignon

Name: Michael-David Winery Freakshow Cabernet Sauvignon
Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Sirah
Region: California
Country: USA
Year: 2013
Price: $20

Winery Review: A dense, rich, full-bodied, meaty, almost Mediterranean style of wine...possesses
loads of black and red currants, notes of roasted Provençal herbs, licorice and
loamy soil undertones in a dense, full-bodied, supple and silky style.

My Review:
This is a fantastic wine and one that I’ve been wanting to try for a while. The nose is of red fruit with notes of berries, plum, raspberries, strawberry, and currants. The taste is quite fruity with more berries specifically raspberries, plum, currants, and a slight vanilla note. This wine is full-bodied with a smooth, long finish. I absolutely enjoyed this.

Tasting - Chateau Morrisette Nouveau Chien

Name: Chateau Morrisette Nouveau Chien
Variety: Petit Manseng, Traminette, Chardonel, Chardonnay, and Viognier
Region: Virginia
Country: USA
Year: 2014
Price: $15

Winery Review: This floral blend of Petit Manseng, Traminette, Chardonel, Chardonnay, and Viognier has a beautiful nose of honeydew melon and lemons. The palate is dry and crisp with a lively acidity through the finish. This wine pairs well with shellfish, crab cakes, and oysters. Best served between 50-55º F

My Review:
I am not a big fan of white wines but this was pretty good. I thought the nose was overtly tropical with a hint of pineapple. The taste was also tropical with a slight lemon on back. It was enjoyable with a crisp, clean finish. I would definitely get this again.

Tasting - Chateau Morrisette Vidal Blanc

Name: Chateau Morrisette Vidal Blanc
Variety: 100% Vidal Blanc
Region: Virginia
Country: USA
Year: 2015
Price: $25

Winery Review: This crisp, delicate wine displays a mineral character on the nose with hints of pear and cinnamon on the palate. The wine has an almost imperceptible sweetness that balances the natural acidity of the grape. Serving recommendations: 50-55°F

My Review:
The glass looked like it contained clear water. The nose was pretty citrusy with notes of passion fruit. The taste was very nice with notes of stone fruit and pear. The finish was silky smooth. The Vidal Blanc is one of my favorite white varietals and this was no different. Great wine.
