Tasting - Vincent’s Vineyard Shepherd’s Red

Name: Vincent’s Vineyard Shepherd’s Red
Variety: Chambourcin
Region: Virginia
Country: USA
Year: 2013
Price: $12

Winery Review: Our most popular wine made from the Chambourcin grape. This full bodied, mildly oaked, semi-sweet red wine will pleasantly surprise your taste buds.  Shepherd’s Red is named from the Katahdin sheep raised on the Gilmer farm.

My Review:
This wine surprised me. I wasn’t sure what to expect but was impressed. The nose had red fruit with a tinge of oak. The taste was nice too with some like oak and cherries. It was a bit sweet which brought it altogether. Good effort and I can see why it is the most popular.
