Winery Review: A smooth rich wine with dark plum flavors underlain by notes of cherry, blackberry, spice and subtle oak nuances.
My Review: I was looking forward to trying this wine because I have been curious about the varietal and because this is AmRhein’s signature wine. I was a bit disappointed and underwhelmed. The nose was nice with hints of black fruit but the taste left something to be desired. It was kind of watery. Not a very good mouthfeel at all. I was detecting some plum and blackberry but the wine just didn’t sit right with me.
